Nurtured
Hello. My name is Cassia Redmond, owner and operator of NURTURED. I’m a mom to an amazing daughter, I have two loving parents, and a beautiful village filled with supportive friends and family. Before NURTURED, I would say that life was comfortable. I was spiritually, physically, emotionally, and financially healthy. While it seemed I had everything in order, I still was not satisfied. I had been praying and asking God to show me my purpose and help align me to walk in it fully, but he was not responding back at all.
On April 11th, 2024, my mother had a stroke, and our lives changed drastically. The stroke had caused my mother to become paralyzed on the entire right side of her body. The basic day to day functions she was able to do, she no longer could do for herself. I became my mom’s caregiver from that day going forward.
Recovering from a stroke is a long standing process. One of the most vital contributions to recovery is maintaining a healthy diet and exercise. Prior to the stroke, my mother didn’t enjoy eating or consuming many fruits and vegetables. But as her caregiver and daughter, I was determined to help change that. One day, my dad had called me raving about a new juice he made, and I thought maybe I can try juicing fruits and vegetables for my mom. That same day, I went to the store and made her a beets juice for her blood pressure. Both she and I were amazed at how good it actually tasted. I then made a watermelon juice, and she was hooked. She started telling everyone around the hospital, and next thing I know, the nurses started coming in the room with sample cups just to get a sip.
A few months later, God had placed it on my heart to start juicing again, so I did just that. I expressed to my family that I wanted to start juicing as a business, and I wanted them to help me by sampling them and providing feedback. One of the juices I made was the Mango Mix. At the time, I had made it for my cousin to aid her with her memory fog. She asked me what was in it, and I told her it was a surprise. She then told me she was going to share it with a few of her friends. I immediately became anxious. In my mind, I wasn’t ready for anyone else to know about my juices. I was still working on the recipes. But God had other plans. She called me back later that evening and told me everyone loved it and asked where and when can they buy the juices. That was not only God giving me confirmation to start the business, but it was also him telling me to trust him to help me build it.
